The Liebherr Group is a large German equipment manufacturer based in Switzerland specializing in cranes, aircraft parts, and mining, with 8.3 billion euros in revenue for 2011. It has a workforce of 35,333 and comprises more than 130 companies across all countries. By 2007, it was the world's largest crane company. Established in 1949 by Hans Liebherr, the group's entirely family-owned Bulle, Switzerland-based holding company, Liebherr-International AG, of which Isolde and Willi Liebherr are the chief executive and chairman. In 2005, Forbes magazine listed them as billionaires.
