Federal trucks were essentially "assembled" trucks in that they used major components procured from suppliers. This Federal Q9, photographed in December, 1934, is a prime example of a truck which was built expressly to meet military requirements: it is not even included in commercial model lists of the period. A Spicer four-speed transmission and two-speed transfer were teamed with Timken double reduction axles for the final drive. (MV)
