The Hendrickson story began in 1913 with the founding of The Hendrickson Motor Truck Company by inventor and businessman Magnus Hendrickson. This small Chicago-based manufacturing company built trucks often equipped with cranes, which were used to haul stone and other building materials.

In 1926 Magnus' son, Robert Theodore Hendrickson I, developed the first tandem suspension, and from 1936, exclusively supplied this innovative type of suspension to International Harvester . The independent suspension combines Hendrickson’s chassis integration experience, manufacturing excellence, vehicle dynamics experience and history of heavy-duty suspension design. The system features superior mobility, steering, ride and handling characteristics to help protect the chassis, cargo and passengers in treacherous environments. Hendrickson has supported the military for over 80 years through various programs including the M915 and M916 tractors. For more than four decades, we have continued to expand our involvement with the military through numerous vehicle programs including the HMTT, HETS, PLS, MVT, MTVR, LVSR, HMMWV and MRAP vehicles . | ![]() |
